Are you new here? Going anywhere for the first time can put you out of your comfort zone. So here's a little bit about our church. We are an informal island church with a come as you are attitude.
What to expect: We come together before the Worship service on Sunday morning, greet each other for a few minutes around the coffee bar (no brand name espresso choices yet but maybe when our building project is done), and catch up with friends. The service begins upstairs with reading a couple verses from the Bible together and singing a couple worship songs. Following that there are a few announcements (during the announcements we all fill out the Connect Cards included in the bulletin) and then the children are dismissed to their Children's Church classrooms downstairs (Nursery is available during Children's Church.) Upstairs the sermon, or message, is given which is based on the Bible with the purpose of helping us understand God, who we are and the world we all live in. The children will join us back upstairs (Nursery parents may pick up their little ones) after the sermon and then the offering follows where those who attend this church give toward God's work (this is an opportunity for regular attenders to share in the ministry). A time of praise, singing a mix of comtempory and traditional songs, and worshiping Jesus together follows. The Connect Cards are dropped into the basket in the foyer at the close of the service. Check out our Kid's Ministries for more about the children's ministry.
What to wear: No need to dress up--just wear whatever you are comfortable in. Generally we are pretty casual--pacific northwest style is the norm (socks and sandals guy would feel comfortable here) though some like to wear a suit or dress on occasion.
